Beginner Beekeeping Program

Interested in Beekeeping? Not sure where to start?

Join a small group of beekeepers for a season of experiential learning, taking you through the seasonal activities of beekeeping.

It will be a mix of theory & hands on work with the bees, covering topics like safety, equipment, basic bee biology, colony management, disease management, honey harvest, seasonal tasks, and more.

 

Where and When?

The course will be capped at 10 participants and will take place at NOD’s head office (374 Sidney Stree, Quinte West) every 2nd Sunday from May 14-August 20, 2023.

COST

The cost of the program is $500.  This includes 8 sessions and two beekeeping manuals.

You will be required to buy some of your equipment but please wait until we provide you with a list of what you will need.

THE INSTRUCTOR

Hannah, NOD's beekeeping coordinator

Hannah Neil is a former co-president of the University of Guelph Apiculture Club, with three years of commercial beekeeping experience in Saskatchewan and New Zealand, and five years as the Team Lead for the Saskatchewan Beekeepers Development Commission Technology Adaptation Team.
